Face massage
specialist
A holistic restorative, sculpting face massage designed to release tension, support natural lift, and calm the nervous system.
The intersection where beauty and wellbeing meet – supporting how you look, and how you feel.
What is face massage?
A hands-on, holistic approach that works with the muscles, fascia, skin and lymphatic system of the face.
Through slow, sculpting techniques, it helps release tension, support natural lift, and restore flow.
The result is a softened, more rested appearance, and a deeply relaxed nervous system.
The session
The Clay Sculpt Face Massage is a non-invasive treatment that focuses on:
Facial sculpting, posture and tone, circulation and lymphatic flow, release of jaw and facial tension, nervous system regulation, and relaxation.
Each session is unhurried and responsive, allowing the body to soften, settle, and recalibrate.
The benefits
Benefits vary for each person, but may include:
naturally lifted, rested facial appearance
improved facial posture and alignment
reduced jaw tension (including TMJ-related holding)
increased blood and oxygen flow
de-puffing and clearer lymphatic movement
support for collagen and tissue health
improved sleep and relaxation
nervous system calming
Many clients describe a grounded glow that extends beyond the face.

The story behind Clay Studio
Clay Studio is a face massage practice founded by Tina Somerville in Matamata, shaped by a background in art, design, and working with form by hand.
After years spent in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, Tina felt drawn toward slower, more embodied work, something grounded in presence rather than pace.
Through her own experience of receiving facial massage, she felt the physical release and nervous system calm that skilled touch can offer, and the quiet but powerful way it supports both how you look and how you feel.
What began as personal restoration grew into a desire to share this work with others.
At Clay Studio, the face is treated as living form, approached slowly, intuitively, and with care. Each session supports circulation, lymphatic flow, and muscular balance, while gently encouraging the nervous system to settle and reset.
It’s a space to soften, unwind, and return to yourself.

You will notice visible changes after a single session, however facial sculpting works best when approached as a practice rather than a one-off treatment.
Like any form of bodywork, consistency helps the muscles, fascia, and nervous system adapt and respond more deeply over time. An initial series of 6–8 sessions, spaced close together (often weekly), is commonly recommended to support longer-lasting results. From there, treatments can be spaced every few weeks or monthly, with some clients choosing to repeat an intensive series every six months.
That said, every face and body is different. Even a one off pick-me-up treatment you will feel the benefits. We’ll always take time to talk through what feels most appropriate for you.
-
There’s no downtime required after a session — most people leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and visibly glowing.
For events or special occasions, treatments can be scheduled closer together beforehand to support a more settled, lifted appearance.
